The profile of a La Cuna foster parent is diverse. We do not discriminate based on age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion or marital status. While we are working to increase the numbers of Latino foster parents, we heartily encourage all potential foster parents, not just Latinos, to apply.

La Cuna needs caring community members to provide safe, stable and loving homes to foster babies and toddlers. Requirements to become a La Cuna foster parent are simple, and include:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Health/TB test
  • Resident of San Diego County
  • DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance
  • Screening and 24 hour training
  • Home Study/Inspection (ensuring you have adequate space and a safe environment to care for a foster child)
